OceanX descends into the depths of the Humboldt current in search of the ferocious but shy Humboldt squid.

Overview
Dr. Edith Widder is an American oceanographer, marine biologist, and the co-founder, CEO, and Senior Scientist at the Ocean Research & Conservation Association. A specialist in bioluminescence, Dr. Widder was behind the pioneering technology that first lured the giant squid into the view of our cameras in 2012. She has been a leader in helping to design and invent new instrumentation and techniques that enable scientists to see the ocean in new ways. Using her groundbreaking “e-jelly,” we captured some of the stunning “squid fight” footage that appeared in Blue Planet II.
