Multimedia Learning

Transforming understanding through immersive media and interactive experiences.

From immersive projection domes and extended reality to museum installations and documentary films, our Multimedia Learning programs use innovative technologies to connect people with the ocean in new and captivating ways. Whether hosted at a museum, school, or public event, these experiences invite participants to explore the ocean, engage with real expeditions, and imagine a future where science and storytelling drive ocean change.

Extended Reality

Our extended reality (XR) programs use virtual reality, augmented reality, and immersive media to transport participants deep into the action of ocean science. Delivering stunning, cinematic experiences in compact spaces, these experiences make large-scale content more accessible in classrooms, libraries, and public events.

OceanX Portal Experiences

The OceanX Portal is a portable, immersive projection dome that offers an interactive, behind-the-scenes view of the ocean. From submersible dives to expedition planning, the Portal brings learners into direct contact with groundbreaking ocean research and the people who make it possible.

OceanXperience Touring Exhibition

Inspired by our OceanXplorers series created in collaboration with National Geographic, this traveling museum exhibition puts visitors inside a full-scale interactive replica of the OceanXplorer vessel. Attendees choose their own adventure to explore ocean environments and experience what it’s like to lead a deep-sea expedition.

OceanX Documentary Films

Created in partnership with leading filmmakers, broadcasters, and scientists, OceanX produces and contributes to documentaries that transform exploration into shared understanding. Our films amplify the voices of those working on the front lines of ocean science and conservation, expand awareness of ocean-connected careers, and inspire curiosity, care, and action. Reaching audiences in classrooms, big screens, and on digital platforms around the world, our pathbreaking documentaries invite people everywhere to see the ocean as part of their own story.
