The inaugural OceanX Summit, held in Singapore from October 1–3, brought together trailblazers from science, technology, philanthropy, education, and the arts for a groundbreaking summit to explore and discuss how to reconnect humanity with the ocean. Day 1: Reimagining Ocean Connection Through Creativity and Education 

Theme: Inspiration and Immersion 

OceanX Co-CEO, Mark Dalio, opened the Summit with a call to reimagine humanity’s relationship with the ocean through exploration, science, and storytelling, underscoring Southeast Asia’s role as a hub of ocean innovation. 

Highlights: 

• Launch of the OceanX–Pioneer Works Digital Artist Residency, bridging art and science to translate ocean data into creative works that inspire public engagement. 

• Panels showcased how immersive media, XR, and gaming can make ocean learning experiential and emotional, fostering empathy and curiosity. 

• OceanX’s Hackathon program aboard the OceanXplorer was spotlighted for connecting educators, technologists, and scientists in developing hands-on learning tools.

• Culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between OceanX and OceanQuest, expanding ocean literacy across Asia and the Middle East.

• Discussions on ocean literacy and the blue economy highlighted the importance of reimagined education, storytelling, and workforce development. 

• Announcements included the OceanX Fellowship Program and a collaboration with Singapore’s ArtScience Museum to launch an interactive ocean exhibition in 2026.
